When I click format in the message above it says: An old laptop or anything, even your old unreliable pc at work. I’ve tried re-booting with the drive plugged in, and with blank and not blank disk inserted. The only time I found anything useful was after I viewed the driver details in device manager and it told me it uses sfloppy. Windows cannot format the disk.

You can tell by the holes at the corners opposite the metal slider. The disk needs to be formatted.

What do you mean by the machine sees it? Also yes, I do actually have a use for floppy disks even in Who knew the government would still rely on these things. My audio doesn’t work and when I got to the playback devices its empty I have the boxes checked off to show all the devices but it shows absolutely nothing.
